Native Language is an indie rock band from the Chicago area that fuses together elements of folk and alternative rock, creating a sound that is simultaneously discreet and direct, ambient and attention-grabbing. Reminiscent of artists like the New Pornographers, Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s and Earlimart, their songs are a reflection of the life they’ve lived; the heartache, the joy and the surprise.

After playing supporting roles in other people’s bands for years, husband and wife duo Mike Weber (vocals, guitars) and Jenni Froula-Weber (vocals, piano) set out to write their own songs and tell their own stories. Wanting to keep things close and in the family, they brought in Jenni’s brother Stephen Froula (drums/perc, vocals), himself a veteran of the Chicago music scene, and in April of 2016 the trio released their 4-song EP “From Memory”.
